Their

Our take on the word:  Commonly misused as they're and there since the pronounced words are all the same.  The definitions are completely different.

About the word:
Their is a pronoun.  It is a form of the possessive case of they.  It shows ownership.

The definition of their is a bit complicated.  Their can be a replacement for the masculine "his" or feminine "her."  It is used as an attributive adjective before a noun.  It is best to see the example sentences to acquire a feel for the use of the word their.

Someone left their book on the table in the lunchroom.

Their rights were violated.

Their departure from Rome was bittersweet.
